The novel Coronavirus outbreak is still present in the world. New cases of infection are popping everyday in different countries. Along with the infections, numerous myths and rumors regarding it’s treatment are also spreading around in the world. Just recently, The AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homoeopathy) Ministry of India released two advisories on twitter claiming that Homeopathic Medicine ‘Arsenicum Album 30’ can prevent or treat Coronavirus infection. The press release regarding this issue mentioned “Unani Medicines useful in the symptomatic management of Coronavirus infection.” The release further explained that, “The Group of Expertsinter-Alia has recommended that Homeopathic Medicine ‘Arsenicum Album 30’ could be taken as prophylactic medicine against Coronavirus infections, which has also been advised for prevention of ILI.”

After this news came into public eye many people criticized these claims made by the AYUSH ministry and questioned about this treatment. As an answer to these complaints, The AYUSH Ministry cleared that it didn’t claim in its press release that “effective treatment” of Coronavirus is possible.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) ended all the fake rumors and news about the availability of treatment of coronavirus by declaring that there is no medicine or vaccination available to treat the Coronavirus infection. It has only informed citizens that those affected by the infection should undergo treatment. After WHO’s declaration regarding the treatment of coronavirus, fact checkers websites AltNews and BoomLive cross-checked all the given evidence and confirmed with the homeopathy experts that apparently there is no medicine for coronavirus till now. They also declared that the news of homeopathy medicines able to treat coronavirus is absolutely fake. The AYUSH Ministry’s claim falls short of the truth in our fact check as well.
