HIV treatment involves taking medicines that slow down the progression of HIV virus in the body. The HIV virus is called a retrovirus, and the combination of drugs used to treat ths is called antiretroviral therapy (ART). ART is recommended for patients living with HIV, regardless of how long they’ve had the virus or how healthy they are. In this lecture, Dr. Ameet Dravid gives a talk on the advances in management of HIV and its implication in Indian context. The First line & Second line Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) in accordance to WHO guidelines, how to achieve viral suppression? Need for an ideal ART regimen?
