Kangana Ranaut is one of the versatile Bollywood actors and has gained numerous accolades in her career span of 13 years in Bollywood. She has garnered many National Film Awards since her debut to her last award for Queen in 2015. Many of her movies saw her essaying the role of a mental disorder character.

Kangana Ranaut debuted in 2006 with Anurag Basu’s ‘Gangster’ portraying the role of an alcoholic. The movie, ‘Woh Lamhe’ was based on the story of Bollywood actress Parveen Babi who was suffering from schizophrenia which was played by the actress. Kangana’s performance is said to be one of her best performances. Again, Kangana Ranaut’s bold performance as a troubled drug addict in the modelling industry was surreal in ‘Fashion’. The story of the movie ‘Simran” captures the life of Praful and her struggle with gambling addiction which was done justice by the said actress. Another film ‘Judgemental Hai  Kya’  features Bobby, a dubbing artist, who was diagnosed with acute psychosis at a young age and how her life changes after new tenants come to her house.

She has been seen time and again playing the role of realistic characters with an issue that many people suffer from and are looked down in society for.
