Novel bronchoscopic interventions appear promising for patients with COPD
Targeted lung denervation is emerging as a promising novel therapeutic option that is safe and may improve clinical outcomes in COPD patients. Researchers are looking at many bronchoscopic treatments to find potential to improve the quality of life for patients. However, a recent presentation by a researcher from The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus at the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians from an ongoing phase 3 randomized controlled trial provides hope on new information on the efficacy of targeted lung denervation. Meanwhile, larger randomized, controlled trials are also being conducted to confirm the available data and to evaluate treatment durability.
