IMA demands Covid inoculation, including a booster, for all diabetes patients in India
Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has launched a nationwide campaign for early detection and mitigation of diabetes complications, has demanded vaccination, including a booster dose, for all diabetes patients in the country. The IMA campaign includes holding programmes in both urban and rural areas to promote detection of even hidden and pre-diabetes cases. It will involve a walkathon, a marathon, screening camps, and a social media drive. It will also include research paper promotion among young doctors and an “intense” personal intervention at hospitals. As part of the campaign, the IMA has joined hands with the Association of Physicians of India, Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India, Endocrine Society, and many other niche organisations.
