About This Lecture Series
This is a live interactive three lecture series specially designed for general practitioners and consulting physicians to help them in better understanding of the concept from the multi-faculty perspective in diabetic nephropathy and new approaches to transform into better outcomes for kidney disease in diabetic patients. The lecture series comes with various illustrative studies and proven facts for diabetic nephropathy management. Each lecture highlights updated standard protocols and latest advancements along with expert opinions and discussions to provide optimum care which can be introduced in routine practice.
Objective of the Lecture
- To discuss the unmet needs in the diagnosis and treatment of people with diabetic kidney disease and discuss goal-directed medical therapies for these patients.
- To equip physicians with the importance to individualize treatment protocols as per clinical requirements.
- Help physicians with the current perspectives, challenges, along with evaluating the different hypoglycaemic agents that offer nephroprotection.
- Case-based discussions highlighting latest evolving concepts in the therapy and its systematic application in respective clinical practice.
Meet the Faculty
DR. SANJAY KALRA
MD, DMDr. Sanjay Kalra is a consultant and head at Bharti Hospital, Karnal, Haryana, India. He is the Immediate Past President of Endocrine Society of India and Vice President of South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies and POC Member of International Congress of Endocrinology, Singapore, 2022. He also serves on the executive council of the Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India. He has over 1000 PubMed indexed articles to his name, and has fostered bilateral and multilateral links between various Afro Asian countries in the field of endocrinology. He has developed the terms Glucocrinology and Lipocrinology and the Gluco Coper tool to assess coping mechanisms. Dr. Sanjay is the winner of the DAWN Award (2009). He has also published the concepts of diabetes fatigue syndrome, euthymia in diabetes, quaternary prevention in endocrinology, and quinary prevention.
PROF. (DR.) SANJEEV GULATI
MD, DNB (CHD), DM, DNB (Nephrology)Dr. Sanjeev Gulati is the Principal Director, Nephrology & Kidney Transplant Fortis Group of Hospitals, NCR, and Adjunct Professor, Department of Nephrology, Manipal University. He has also worked as an Associate Professor in Pediatric Nephrology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. He has special expertise in managing kidney transplants and children with renal diseases and has experience at leading hospitals in UK, Australia and Canada. He has played a pivotal role in the Dialysis and Transplant programme at SGPGI, Lucknow which is amongst the largest programmes in the country. Read More
DR. KM PRASANNA KUMAR
MBBS, MD (General Medicine), DM (Endocrinology)Dr. KM Prasanna Kumar is a Consulting Endocrinologist at the Center for Diabetes & Endocrine Care (HBR Layout) and the CEO of Bangalore Diabetes Hospital, Vasanth Nagar. Having completed his training at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, with a distinguished career spanning three decades, Dr. KM Prasanna Kumar is one of India’s foremost endocrinologists. He is well-known in the Endocrine and Diabetes community as an excellent researcher and teacher, has headed both, the Endocrine Society and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India – a rare honor.
