Telemonitoring, educational sessions highly effective in COPD care
Educational and telemonitoring programs have been found highly effective among COPD patients in combating the disease. A recent research conducted by a team of researchers from different institutions and hospitals across Lebanon, involving a sample of 15 patients from the pulmonology departments of four hospitals, found that the program had a positive impact on the anxiety relief and overall quality of life. The team wrote that their findings included six patients who had improved in quality of life scores, and five patients had lower anxiety and depression scores compared to baseline measures. The results also revealed substantial improvement in information and knowledge for all participants.
