Meet the Instructor
Dr. Edward Gane
MBCHB, MD, FRACP, MNZMDr. Gane is Professor of Medicine at the University of Auckland,
New Zealand and Chief Hepatologist, Transplant Physician and Deputy Director of
the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit at Auckland City Hospital. In 1998,
he was appointed as Chief Transplant Physician for the first New Zealand
Liver Transplant programme at Auckland City Hospital. In 2000,
Dr. Gane became the Ministry of Health Clinical Advisor for the
National Hepatitis B Screening and Follow-up Programme and in 2013,
he was appointed as the Hepatitis C Champion for the Ministry of Health National Hepatitis C Project.
Dr. Gane is an Investigator for many international clinical trials
of therapies for chronic viral hepatitis with particular interest
in early phase development of new direct acting antiviral therapies against
hepatitis C and hepatitis B including phase 2 & 3 clinical trials of
Tenofovir Alafenamide for chronic hepatitis B He has published
more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet and
The New England Journal of Medicine and serves on the editorial committee
for several journals. Dr. Gane serves on the Executive Committee of
the NZ Society of Gastroenterology and is a member of several
international organizations including APASL, AASLD, ILCA and ILTS. In May 2011,
Dr. Gane was awarded Member of the Order of New Zealand for Services to Medicine.

Information regarding any upcoming live lectures are put up on the site a week prior and can be found on our site’s homepage under Upcoming Lectures.
As of now DocMode does not offer any credit points for watching the live lectures/on-demand recording.
