
Doctors’ panel calls air pollution a ‘medical emergency’, issues new health advisory
Doctors for Clean Air (DFCA), a forum of leading doctors, along with SwitchON Foundation released a comprehensive health advisory, calling air pollution a ‘medical emergency’, on the eve of National Pollution Control Day. The advisory provides everyday preventive measures and practices for the citizens in order to combat the rising air pollution levels of winters in India.
Warning about the challenges of rising non-smoking COPD levels in India, household air pollution and occupational air pollution levels, the panel stressed on the importance of undertaking individual measures to combat these issues in order to benefit future generations as well.
