US hospital’s “Harmonicas for Health” program helps COPD patients make their lungs work and cough up the unwanted
Northside Hospital Forsyth, a public facility owned by the Hospital Authority of Fulton County in the US, has developed a program called ‘harmonicas for health’ wherein COPD patients are asked to push and pull along the buttons to breathe hard. One year after its inception, the hospital administration and medical practitioners are sharing positive stories regarding the therapy. Patients have also shared positive stories as the instrument makes one work their lungs and loosens whatever is in there that needs to be coughed up. Medical practitioners in the hospital have also confided as to how effective this therapy is, as it combines the essential breathing exercises with having fun while doing the same.
