
India records 6,358 new Covid-19 cases on Monday; Omicron tally rises to 653
With the record single-day spike in Omicron variant infection cases reported in Maharashtra,Delhi, Gujarat and Kerala, India’s tally of coronavirus disease caused by the new ‘variant of concern’ has gone up to 653 on Monday. As on Tuesday, Maharashtra, the top affected, has reported 167 cases of Omicron, followed by Delhi with 165 cases, Kerala 57, Telangana 55 and Gujarat at 49. Meanwhile, the country recorded 6,358 new covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours. Active cases currently stand at 75,456 while the recovery rate is at 98.90 per cent, showed the Health Ministry data.
