Highmark, a health and wellness organisation based in Pittsburgh, and the Karachi headquartered Bosch Pharmaceuticals announced their partnership to explore the use of innovative sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect pediatric pulmonary conditions, such as asthma. The research team said that they would focus on pediatric pulmonary conditions like asthma and see if it can be detected using the noise emitted through patients’ breathing patterns by using high-fidelity microphones and AI for sound analysis. Medical experts have expressed hopes that this collaboration could bring the necessary innovation to the field of pulmonary health, particularly in children.
