China’s locally transmitted Covid cases on a rise
Out of the total 87 new Covid cases reported in Mainland China on February 17, 40 were locally transmitted, compared with 35 in the previous day. The country’s National Health Authority said that among the total number of cases reported in the last 24 hours, though slightly lower compared with 92 a day earlier, the locally transmitted cases were less. The local infections included 22 new cases in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, the authority said.
