India reported 14,148 new Covid-19 cases and 302 related deaths in the last 24 hours ending 8 am on Thursday.  Even as the national daily fatality rate continued to be in the range of 250 to 300, Mumbai recorded zero Covid deaths on Wednesday. The daily tally of cases in the state of Maharashtra, however, rose to 168 as compared to 135 on Tuesday and 96 on Monday. Covid cases at 1,151 in the state Maharashtra rose slightly on Wednesday but fatalities at 23 halved compared to a day earlier.
