Roflumilast is confirmed to be effective in combating COPD, with its benefits outweighing adverse effects, observed a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by a team of researchers at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad. The authors of the latest study, who analysed over 580 studies from three different databases, including PubMed, Cinahl, and Cochrane Library, along with other studies selected for the qualitative analysis, wrote that there was significant improvement in quality of life in patients with COPD after administration of roflumilast. They also stressed that further research is required as studies which were not open access and not in English language were excluded in their analysis.
