Close links between allergies/asthma to heart disease

Scientists have established a significant correlation between allergic disorders including asthma and heart disease. A recent research by a team of researchers under Dr Yang Guo, a postdoctoral researcher at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital in China, which is to be presented at the American College of Cardiology and Korean Society of Cardiology’s spring conference in Gyeongju, South Korea, indicated that people between the ages of 39 and 57 with allergies are at a higher risk for coronary heart disease in addition to the higher risk  for high blood pressure. The research also highlighted that routine evaluation of blood pressure and likelihood of coronary artery disease could be highly beneficial to ensure early treatments to those with allergic disorders, including asthma.
