Heart failure is a complex condition characterized by structural and functional abnormalities of the heart. It is often classified based on left ventricular ejection fraction, which predicts mortality. Recent sodium glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor trials have renewed interest in identifying beneficial pharmacological therapies. This review covers pharmacological HF therapies across ejection fraction spectrum, examining their effects on mortality, hospitalization, functional status, and biomarker levels.
