National Stress Awareness Month has been held every April, since 1992. Stress is described as a feeling of physical or emotional uneasiness. It may originate from any event or activity, it may cause a person to be angry, sad, nervous or frustrated. It could be positive or negative with regard to its task. Like for example some people work very efficiently under pressure and some do not. So stress awareness month is overserved in April to bring light to one’s well-being.
The covid-19 pandemic (coronavirus) actually taught us many things but the most important lesson was about mental health. Stress could be caused due to various factors, even doing nothing caused a lot of stress in people’s lives. Locked inside the 4 walls of the house. Stress Awareness Month showcases the importance of being emotionally and physically stable. Stress may even cause people to get depressed
Stress can cause the following.
- Feelings of fear, anger, sadness, worry, numbness, or frustration
- Difficulty concentrating and making decisions
- Difficulty sleeping or nightmares
- Physical reactions, such as headaches, body pains, stomach problems, and skin rashes
- Worsening of mental health conditions
- Increased use of tobacco, alcohol, and other substances

- Maintain a healthy diet
- Find ways to express yourself
- Evade paranoia
It is important to stay connected with your friends and family. Helping others cope with stress is very important too. Help them to recognize there's a problem. It's easier to spot signs of stress in other people than it is to see them in ourselves. And you can support them to seek professional help.
Sometimes things get worse before they get better. Depression is sometimes prompted by a traumatic or emotionally trying event that takes a great deal of time to overcome.
