There are more than 100 different types of arthritis, with different causes and treatment methods. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is most commonly seen in adults over the age of 65, but it can also develop in children, teens, and younger adults.
Joint pain, stiffness, and swelling are the most common symptoms of arthritis. Your range of motion may also decrease, and you may experience redness of the skin around the joint. Many people with arthritis notice their symptoms are worse in the morning. Severe arthritis, particularly if it affects your hands or arms, can make it difficult for you to do daily tasks. Arthritis of weight-bearing joints can keep you from walking comfortably or sitting up straight. In some cases, joints may become twisted and deformed.
What causes arthritis at an early age?
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is the most common kind of arthritis among kids and teens. Rheumatoid arthritis, or RA, can develop at any age from 16 onwards, although people most commonly first develop symptoms of it in their 40s.
Nearly 300,000 babies and children have arthritis or a rheumatic condition. Arthritis occurs more commonly in adults who are obese than in adults who are normal weight or underweight .Arthritis is more common in women than in men.
Although there's no cure for arthritis, treatment aims to control pain, minimize joint damage, and improve or maintain quality of life. It involves medications, physical therapies, and patient education and support. Foods ingredients like trans fat, sugar, refined carbohydrates, saturated fat is not proffered as it could worsen the condition.
