About This Course

An online course on clinical approach to secondary skin infections. This 3-module comprehensive course has a unique content structure that will give you an in-depth understanding of the various secondary skin infections. This course shall focus on the secondary skin infections, their epidemiology, diagnostic criteria, risk factors and ways to manage them. Interesting cases on disease conditions will also be discussed by experts to develop a deeper understanding of the topic.

Need for the Course

Secondary skin infections are common and usually bacterial in nature. A secondary skin infection occurs when an existing skin disease is invaded by a bacterial organism, therefore producing the signs and symptoms of clinical infection. The pre-existing damage to the skin serves as a gateway for the entry of the infecting organism. Because of the underlying disease, the clinical picture and course of the infection may vary. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent the worsening of the initial infection or to impede systemic complications. The course is designed with an aim to create an optimal platform to provide accurate information by experts in the management of secondary skin infections.

At the completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Develop a firm understanding of different types of secondary skin infections and their clinical manifestations
