About this Course
This course provides evidence-based information to update consulting and general physicians on the role of the commensal gut microbiota in normal gut physiology and function, as well as its role in gastrointestinal diseases. This course also covers the basics of microbes that cause disease to solutions of probiotics present. This webinar lecture series packs tons of health information into three lesson modules designed to create expertise in the world of gut microbiome and the potential of probiotics as treatments as documented from clinical research.
Need for the Course
Increasing number of systemic diseases, psychological conditions, gastrointestinal problems and other health hazards arise from the imbalance of the gut microbiota. Probiotics are now preferred as the first line of treatment and one of the well known methods for the prevention of these GI related hazards. Therefore it is important for physicians to improve their understanding of the mechanisms of probiotics and the evidence that support their use in practice. Hence this course introduces three subsequent modules to raise physician’s awareness on the importance of the gut microbiota in clinical conditions and use of different probiotics in treating the same while following guidelines recommended by various medical societies.
Objectives of this Course
The objective of this course is to understand the interaction of gut microbiome and gastrointestinal system. It shall all give a deeper insight on probiotics and their benefits in various systemic diseases and gastrointestinal disorders. The course also provides information on latest developments in probiotics or probiotic derived products and their selection to specifically address a patient's unique disease causing physiological or genetic defect.
