AHA announces $10 million research fund to study long-term effects of COVID-19 on heart and brain

Realising the serious impacts of Covid-19 on every other organ in the human body in addition to the respiratory system, medical research bodies have begun deeper studies on Covid-linked health issues, especially the long term impacts of the disease on the heart and the neural system.  The latest among these programmes is an announcement of a $10 million grant to fund studies of long-term effects of COVID-19 on the heart and the brain by the American Heart Association (AHA). The AHA grants will fund projects studying the basic mechanisms underlying cardiac, vascular and cerebrovascular complications in patients with COVID-19, as well as why some people experience effects of COVID-19 beyond the standard recovery time.
