BLF survey finds 75% of COPD patients in UK lack basic care

A landmark survey conducted by the British Lung Foundation (BLF) has found that more than three quarters of the COPD patients in the United Kingdom are not receiving basic care. The report, titled “Falling on the Fundamentals”,  used data from more than 8,000 COPD patients for 6 months and also found that COPD has truncated the working lives of some 420,000 patients.  More than half of the patients experience worsening mental health and direct discriminaion owing to their conditions. Concerned with these shocking  findings, BLF has now demanded structural reforms in the governmental sector for better diagnosis and treatment of COPDs.
