India healthcare trend report shows 90% nurses suffer from one or more pain related issues
A new healthcare infrastructure and environment trend report prepared by Godrej & Boyce through a national survey revealed that at least 90 percent of nurses in the country are suffering from one or more pain related issues and most of these are owing to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
The trend report “Elements of a Healing Environment” highlighted that doctors and nurses have long shifts working on their feet or in uncomfortable positions. MSD is currently recognized as a common occupational injury and it is crucial that medical facilities think about ergonomics for their staff’s well-being that will enable better patient care. The report, which also revealed several interesting insights on the concerns of patients, the changing face of healthcare infrastructure and health concerns of doctors and nurses, observed that only when a human-centric care model is approached can healthcare spaces become more comfortable and receptive for patients, their families and healthcare providers such as nurses, doctors etc.
