CAMCON launches its BAT technology for oxygen delivery to lung patients

Camcon technology, a UK-based company focused on the core research and development of the digital valve called Camcon Binary Actuator, announced the launch of its new oxygen delivery technology, Binary Actuation Technology (BAT). The company said that the new BAT valve technology allows for ‘unprecedented’ oxygen delivery speed, needing a very short electric pulse to switch a valve between ‘open’ and ‘close’ which acts as a rapid and precise on/off switching device of liquid or gas. The company also expressed hopes that this will alleviate the oxygen shortage across both acute and chronic respiratory failure and that the optimal time in inhalation could lead to better oxygen uptake by the patients. They also added that the device could potentially be a solution to help patients suffering respiratory failure due to SARS-CoV-2 infection problems, pneumonia and COPD.
