CONQUEST is effective for high-risk COPD patients
Latest COPD management programme –CONQUEST (Collaboration on Quality improvement initiative for achieving Excellence in Standards of COPD care)– is highly impactful for high-risk COPD patients through timely diagnosis and optimised management, suggests an international study. The study was aimed at finding a quality improvement program that enables long-term improvement of patient outcomes via integration of the program into routine clinical care. It found that the routine collection and analysis of quality indicators and production of annual status reports informed by EMR, PRO and PRI data required by CONQUEST improves quality improvement cycles, facilitating long-term implementation and improved patient outcomes via a cyclical process. The cyclical process incorporated feedback from previous cycles and sharing of knowledge within a network of healthcare professionals.
