India reported 1,94,720 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 9 am on Wednesday, and would soon cross the 2 lakh mark going by the test positivity rate of 11.05 estimated as on today. The country also reported 442 deaths on Tuesday. There are at least 4,868 confirmed Omicron variant infection cases in India until today. Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and Gujarat remained the most affected countries by the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, though Mumbai — the worst affected city — has shown the number of cases declining in the last four consecutive days.
