The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported an of COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care facility in King County, Washington. All eligible residents and staff at this facility were fully vaccinated. The outbreak affected 23 of her residents, 20 of whom were symptomatic and 7 staff members. Delta variants were identified in samples from four vaccinated residents. The report highlights the need for continuous surveillance and infection control efforts, even in settings with high immunization coverage.
