SC says Covid death data false and so no denial of claims
The Supreme Court of India has directed all state governments that since the Covid-19 death statistics seem not true and accurate, they cannot deny the compensation to families which lost their dear ones to the disease. The Supreme Court had earlier asked the states to compensate the families which had Covid-related deaths with Rs 50,000 per death. The new order was in the wake of complaints from State governments that they have received a number of false applications for compensation and therefore not possible to compensate all.
