India’s ministry of health and family welfare informed that around 28.2 lakh vaccine doses have been administered to pregnant women till February 2. 11.6 lakh such women are fully vaccinated with two doses of Covid vaccine. On July 2, the health ministry had announced the inclusion of pregnant women in the ongoing vaccination drive against Covid-19. However, the government stated, there were also 64 adverse events of vaccination reported in pregnant women, of which 26 were minor events which were self-limiting in nature and 38 were serious and severe.
