
Delhi records highest number of Covid-linked deaths this week
Delhi registered a four-fold rise in its Covid related death toll at 203 the week ending on Sunday as compared to 51 deaths that the state reported the week before. Even though India registered some 83 percent increase in Covid-19-linked fatalities, data from Delhi showed an unprecedented increase. Cumulatively, the country registered 1,394 new deaths in the week as compared to 761 in the previous week. After Delhi, West Bengal (187), Maharashtra (169), Tamil Nadu (134) and Kerala (127) were the states which had higher numbers of Covid deaths this week.
