E-cigs, vaping not effective nicotine replacements

E-cigarettes and vaping are not effective nicotine replacements as most nicotine de-addiction programs just focus only on the physical addiction part, observes a recent study by a team of researchers from Novant Health,  a leading healthcare provider with 15 hospitals offering advanced medical treatment in the US. Novant Health COPD program coordinator Alyssa Dittner said that their 2 year study yielded the result that patches and gum are still safer alternatives as compared to e-cigs and vaping. The study observed that since the other part of nicotine addiction is mental and behavioural, addressing that aspect is essential. This is important because the time to quit smoking varies from person to person depending on their mental state.
