Delhi Air Pollution: Ghaziabad had ‘good air’ only 10 days this year, says UPPCB
According to official data released by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), Ghaziabad in the NCR had ‘good air’ between the AQI index 0-50 only 10 days this year. Utsav Sharma, regional officer of UPPCB, said that the alarming data is due to the fact that the dust content is naturally high in the Indo-gangetic plain where the city is situated.
Meanwhile, the NCR region continued to remain in the ‘very poor’ category through the weekend and according to a System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (Safar) forecast, the AQI is likely to remain in the same category due to cloudy sky and low mixing layer height.
