India on Wednesday recorded a surge in daily Covid-19 cases with 2,85,914 fresh infections detected in the past 24 hours. The latest data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare indicated there were at least 665 new Covid related deaths in the past 24 hours ending 8 am on Thursday. The country’s test/positivity rate stands at 16.16 percent as on today, the government data showed.
