India reports 1.61 lakh new Covid-19 cases; New deaths rise to 1733 in last 24 hours
India reported 1,61,386 new SARS CoV-2 infection cases, mainly driven by the Omicron variant, in the last 24 hours ending 9 am on Wednesday. The country, which is now witnessing an increasing number of daily deaths related to Covid-19, registered 1,733 new deaths on Tuesday. India’s active caseload currently stands at 16,21,603.
