India reported 1,17,100 new Covid-19 cases and 325 related deaths in the last 24 hours.  With the new fatalities registered on Thursday, the total number of deaths due to the pandemic in India climbed to 4,82,876, showed the Health Ministry data. A total of 2,630 cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus have been detected across 23 states and Union Territories so far, out of which 995 have recovered or migrated, according to the Union health ministry’s data updated on Wednesday. Most of the states and Union Territories, in the wake of the full blown third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, have announced restrictions like semi-lockdowns, travel curbs, closure of schools and colleges, limited attendance and timing in government offices and banks among others.
