Israel approves Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for children
Israel, which has been aggressively pushing its adult vaccination drive against Covid-19, approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for children aged between 5 and 11, on Sunday. The country’s decision follows approval of the same vaccine for children by the US FDA. Israel Health Minister Dr. Nachman Ash, who accepted a recommendation from expert advisers to inoculate children, said a majority of advisers believed the benefits of the vaccine outweighed the risks. The ministry said it would announce a date for beginning the campaign in the coming days.
