Israeli Researchers Make Breakthrough in Personalized Medicine for Infectious Diseases
Tel Aviv University researchers in Israel have achieved a ground-breaking finding in customized treatment for infectious diseases. The medical profession has always approached infectious diseases as a whole, however, this research has successfully categorized two critical components of the immune response that occur during severe infectious diseases. The researchers were able to identify two primary types of reactions using a mix of experimental procedures and computational tools: one in which the immune system fights the virus and another in which the harm to the body is repaired after the infection. This classification allows for a more detailed understanding of how individuals respond to illnesses, allowing for individualized therapies depending on each individual’s unique response. Until date, only broad signs like inflammatory markers.
