Lancet study claims India’s Covid deaths 8-times higher
A new paper in the Lancet indicates that India’s Covid-19 deaths were vastly under-reported and estimates that up to the end of 2021, India had the highest number of cumulative excess deaths in the world at 4.07 million deaths, which is about 8-times higher than the official data released. The study also said the actual Covid toll in the country could be eight times higher than the officially reported. The study also indicated that the worldwide Covid death toll is about 18.2 million instead of the officially reported 5.9 million.
