New lifesaving procedure by measuring blood flow in small heart vessels

Medical practitioners at the Ascension Providence in Rochester announced that their new technology called CoroFlow can measure the blood flow in the small heart vessels to treat patients with microcirculation problems. The doctors said that the technology consists of insertion of a little wire, which measures whether a person has a microvalve or not, and reveals if patients have problems with the tiny vessels or microvalves in his heart. These vessels are typically too tiny for the naked eye to see, although 50-60 percent of the patients have microcirculation problems.

Dr. Nishit Choksi, a practitioner at the hospital, was quoted in a media release saying how this technology is the first method to determine microcirculation problems and advising the patients to visit hospital if they experience chest pain that doesn’t go away and other underlying heart issues that are not being solved with existing treatments.
