Children’s Rights Alliance calls for mask exceptions for Asthmatic school children in Ireland

Children’s Rights Alliance, a child rights organization, has called for exceptions in wearing masks for children with asthma and other selected disabilities amid rising worries about children’s well-being from concerned parents in Ireland. The organization pointed out that students with learning disabilities such as autism and ADHD along with asthmatic children find it practically impossible to continue wearing masks in schools.  It also added that this request is endorsed by the WHO in their advisory that children under 6 years of age are not required to wear masks, and therefore asked the government to come out  with a clear guideline in this regard to protect the children’s right to education.
