India reported more than 2,51,209 new coronavirus cases and 627 deaths in the last 24 hours, ending at 9 am on Friday. With 3,47,443 recoveries registered during this period, the country’s active cases declined to 21,05,611 as on today. The daily positivity rate is now at 15.88 per cent. Meanwhile, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to chair a high-level virtual meeting with the health ministers of southern states and UTs this afternoon, to review the Covid situation and protocols in the region. The health ministers of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be present at the meeting.
