New Scarborough research hub focusing on multiple chronic diseases invites COPD, diabetes, asthma, CVD patients for study participation

The new medical research hub at Scarborough hospital, one of the pioneering centres focusing on multiple long-term conditions such as COPD, diabetes, asthma, heart failure and stroke, has invited patients to take part in studies which will improve the treatment options for all these diseases in future as individual illnesses as well as comorbidities.

The new multi disease research hub is a collaborative initiative between York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust and Hull York Medical School (HYMS). The authorities said that the new Scarborough Multimorbidity Research Hub would focus on patients with multiple long-term conditions such as COPD, diabetes, asthma, heart failure and stroke. The researchers at the hub expressed hopes for future projects and said that the increasing body of evidence clearly underlines better outcomes, improved mortality rates and increased confidence in treatment when they are treated in research-active hospitals.
