UK survey finds Northern Ireland has grossly inadequate COPD care
A survey from Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation found that Northern Ireland has inadequate care for COPD patients in the UK. The survey found that among the 43,000 COPD patients across Northern Ireland, only 13.5 percent are receiving basic care. The survey also found that several of the patients have serious flare-ups, which can be life-threatening.
Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation has called for renewed efforts to include lung health strategy in the political manifestos of all the parties to ensure everyone gets access to good quality care for COPD.
