
Patients to be surveyed for global burden of dermatologic diseases – study
GlobalSkin, a major dermatological patient group, has collaborated with Cardiff University and the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf on the GRIDD research effort. This worldwide research will be the first of its kind, aiming to quantify the global burden of skin disorders. Researchers intend to get insight into the impact of hair, mucosa, nail, and skin disorders by using the Patient-Reported Impact of Dermatological Disease (PRIDD) instrument. Over 10,000 persons with dermatologic diseases are expected to participate. Individuals with skin problems can participate in the study and share their challenges and experiences, which will assist confirm the need for better care, better treatment alternatives, and more affordable drugs. Participants will be asked to complete a survey.
