The precautionary or additional vaccine dose recommended for healthcare and frontline workers, and those above 60 years of age with
comorbidities, will start from Monday, January 10, and eligible people can take direct appointments from designated centres for the same from today onwards. Eligible people can also walk-in to the jab centres without a prior appointment. The Union Health ministry has also clarified that there is no need for separate registration for the additional dose on the Covin site and one who has completed 90 days after his/her second dose of the vaccination can directly take the appointment.
