Professor Murray has been appointed Interim Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Yale University School of Medicine
Dr. Thomas Murray, a recognized pediatric infectious disease expert and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s associate medical director for infection control, has been named Interim Section Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Yale School of Medicine, beginning September 1, 2023. Dr. Murray earned his MD and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut before continuing on to Yale for fellowships in pediatric infectious disease and medical microbiology. He rejoined the Yale Pediatrics faculty in 2018 and has already established himself as a valued leader for patients and their families, as well as local and national media. Dr. Murray’s principal research interests are in infection prevention and control in hospitals and early childhood settings, with a current focus on the long-term repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
