Respira labs, a medical technology company based in San Francisco, has launched a new wearable patch to assess lung function constantly in order to monitor COPD, Covid-19 and Asthma conditions. The company said that the new patch has embedded speakers and microphones, which measure the lung air volume on the basis of changes in acoustic resonance from the lungs. 

The patch is named Sylvee and is worn around the lower part of the rib cage to assess the lung function of patients over time. Dr Maria Artunduaga, CEO of Respira Lab, said that the device has more than 90% accuracy and that it can help critical patients.
