Research finds higher risk of asthma complications in Latino patients post Covid-19
A study by Katharine J. Foster and colleagues of the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that Latino patients have a higher risk of developing asthma complications following COVID-19 infection compared with non-Latino Black and White patient
The researchers said that they evaluated COVID-19 patients who had a history of asthma. The researchers found that Latino patients experienced about 1.6 more weeks of asthma exacerbation following COVID-19 infection in comparison with their non-Latino counterparts.
Foster said that their research proves that Latino patients should have increased follow-up visits with medical practitioners post their recovery from Covid-19.
