Study finds serious risk of asthma induced hyperthyroidism
A recent study carried out in Taiwan has found that Asthma increases the risk of hyperthyroidism, especially for those aged above 30 years. Previous research had established how hyperthyroidism affects asthma, but the new study published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice established how asthma, in turn influences hyperthyroidism.
The researchers revealed that they used data of 22, 591 Taiwanese patients from 1997-2013. They concluded that the risk for hyperthyroidism increased among the patients with asthma, calculated by their increased visits to the hospital.
